Folk Band, Jan 2, 2019
On January 2, Philly-based folk duo Folk Band debuted their new EP, ‘Flower Children’ brought the new material to a charmed audience at City Coffee.

Mixing high and lonesome crooning in Philly style with laid back humor, their fingers danced up and down the strings, creating a range of melodies to add texture to their voices. The songs felt like a major work of self reflection, with twangy guitars shining with a cosmic folk sound. They’ll be back to play the Crystal Ballroom in April.
Folk band are American folk duo Nick Perces and Jane Franklin. The band was formed in 2012 in Philadelphia, PA. Perces entered the Philly music scene while completing his first EP in 2010. Franklin grew up in Chicago and played bluegrass in the Midwest since age 18. Franklin writes an engaging array of songs with the occasional bluegrass standards and covers. Their genre swings from blues to folk (and lots in between!) with haunting melodies and thoughtful lyrics.
